Woodrow Wilson Bridge, Alexandria, Virginia
A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is currently providing surveying services support as a part of the GEC for the replacement of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
AMT performed numerous survey tasks for both design and construction of the main bridge and the Virginia approach improvements.
Survey tasks have included:
- Hydrographic survey of the Potomac River from Jones Point Park to Smoots Cover
- Horizontal and vertical control for various as-built survey tasks topographic surveys
- Asbuilt surveys
- QA/QC surveys of bridge piers, bolt patterns and bridge construction for the various bridges at the Route 1 interchange.
- Research of ownership records
- Reviewing metes and bounds surveys and deed descriptions
- Reviewing supplemental surveys prepared by the SDC
- Obtaining spot elevations and test cross sections
- Rotating, converting and translating adjacent project CADD files to project datum.
