BWI Amtrak Station Surveying Services, Hanover, Maryland

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) performed surveying services in support of engineering design for station, parking garage and rail expansion and improvements. Survey effort including establishing a survey control network for 2 mile project length; setting and survey of aerial mapping control points; aerial topographic survey of 2 mile project limits; field survey of top of rail elevations, establishment of Amtrak right of way, as-built of platforms, station, and parking garage; and construction stakeout. Preparation of CAD Base drawing and DTM for use by design team.

As part of an on-call surveying contract for topographic surveys, profiles, cross-sections, rail stake-out and miscellaneous surveys, AMT provided the following services:

  • Performed field surveys for right-of-way plans for properties to be acquired.
  • Established boundaries for property owners and computed areas for permanent easements drainage, and utility easements. throughout the limits of the survey.
  • Prepared full-sized right-of-way plans required for CADD, at a scale of 1"=50' for the area covered by field surveys.
  • Prepared legal descriptions of areas surveyed.
