Whittier Pump Station, City of Frederick, Maryland

A. MORTON THOMAS and Associates, Inc. (AMT) provided design services for a new hydropneumatic booster pump station and a new 8-inch water main to West Greenleaf Drive in the Whittier Subdivision of the northwest portion of the City of Frederick in order to provide domestic and fire flow service to 75 multi-family units and 45 single-family homes.

Services included hydraulic calculations, pump selection, electrical service, standby generator sizing and station layout, and following through to permit acceptance including submittals to MDE and City reviews.

The design flow for the booster pump station was prepared by calculating flow data and applying peaking factors and contingencies, performing hydraulic calculations for the new pump station, and sizing the pumps to establish a layout for the pumping station. Additionally, a 250' pipeline was designed for connection to the existing 8" water mains in West Greenleaf Drive.

These services were provided under a task order contract with the City of Frederick.
