WSSC Basic Ordering Agreement for Water and Sewer, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, MD

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. provided engineering services for WSSC Basic Ordering Agreements including design of utility adjustments, repairs, relocations for water mains, sewers, appurtenances and other new utilities including vaults and special structures and blocking and restraints for projects throughout the WSSC service area.

AMT's services included:

Review of existing topographic maps, existing property, tax and subdivision maps, applicable regulations, historic resource data, and standard specifications
Locations of utilities through review of existing records and test pits
Coordination of alignment selection with WSSC
Development of design alternatives
Cost estimates
Preparation of preliminary plans/profiles
Preparation of final plans and construction details
Coordination with local DPW's and other agencies to assure jurisdictional design criteria compliance
Preparation of construction sequencing/phasing plans
Preparation of MOT plans
Coordination to maintain temporary utility services throughout construction

Tasks under this contract include:

Seminary Road 10" Sanitary Sewer Relocation, Montgomery County, MD: Provided design for the relocation of 10 inch sanitary sewer as well as milling and resurfacing of the roadway within the project area. Also prepared traffic control plans.

Sweetbriar Parkway and Overlook Drive Near Gateway Place, 6" and 10" Water Line Relocation, Montgomery County, MD: Provided design services including the preparation of preliminary and final plans for the relocation of approximately 500 feet of 10 inch water main in Sweetbriar Parkway near the intersection with Gatewood Place and 6 inch water line in Overlook Drive near Gatewood Place to accommodate a new storm drain being installed by Montgomery County.

Fernwood Road 6" Water Line Relocations, Montgomery County, MD: Provided engineering services for the relocation of 150' of 6" water main; lowering 50' of 6" water main; and the relocation of a fire hydrant from a 6" main to a 16" main.

MD 650 Water and Sewer Relocations, Montgomery County, MD: Provided redline revisions for the realignment of 8" sewer and 10" water line at the intersection of MD 650 and Lockwood Road as well as 8" sewer at the intersection of MD 650 and Powder Mill Road. Also checked with Verizon for possible conflicts with the proposed WSSC designs.

MD 115 Water Relocations, MD: Provided design for the relocation of 12" water line along MD 115.

Wayne Avenue Utility Relocations, Montgomery County, MD: Provided design for replacement of approximately 5150' of 6", 8" and 10"W with 12" water lines along Wayne Avenue; relocation of approximately 400' 8" sewer line along Wayne Avenue; and providing for connections to existing 30" water line near Pershing Drive and 24" water line in Sligo Creek Parkway, interconnections to existing mains at 6 intersections, and reconnections of existing water services (approximately 50).
