Royal Lake Emergency Spillway Upgrade, Fairfax County, VA
As part of our term contract (IDIQ) with the Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) for Fairfax County, A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is conducting multiple task orders on an annual basis for $1 million for water resources projects and related needs including dams/impoundments, and impaired streams.
The Royal Lake Spillway Upgrade Task Order includes the design of training dikes and armoring using articulated concrete blocks (ACBs) for upgrading the existing emergency spillway for the dam to a full PMF. The project will include surveying, geotechnical engineering; and design of bid-ready plans, cost estimates, bid documents and related professional services. AMT will also coordinate with DCR for a dam alteration permit approval for the County. Coordination with County stormwater management
personnel will include county responsibilities for addressing wetland issues and RPA reforestation issues with FCPA. Other projects getting underway are Woodglen Lake, Lake Barton, and Huntsman Lake.
Other Water Resources Projects
