Witter Street/Duke Street Signalization, Alexandria, Virginia
AMT prepared a new signal design at the intersection of Duke Street and Witter Drive in conjunction with the development of two new recreational fields and a baseball diamond, located near the I-495/Telegraph Road interchange, in the City of Alexandria. The design consisted of new signal heads with a protected/permissive left-turn phase along westbound Duke Street along with LED countdown pedestrian signal heads for crossing the Witter Drive approach, and pavement markings and signage. The plan sheets included a phasing diagram, color sequence and clearance charts, equipment location descriptions, and a quantity summary chart.
