Pier Replacement at the Smithsonian Institution Environmental Research Center, Anne Arundel County, MD
A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. provided assessment, planning, and design of a new research pier and Visitors Center.
Project components included:
- Demolition and removal of existing dock structure after the new dock was constructed.
- Demolition and removal of mooring pilings.
- Demolition and removal of site improvements.
- Disconnecting, capping or sealing, and abandoning site utilities in place.
- Surveying to determine the amount of demolition required.
- Construction of a new timber pier.
