On-call design services for multiple athletic field facilities. Services include, but are not limited to, investigation of site conditions; synthetic or natural turf athletic field selection; lighting; furnishings and equipment/maintenance/support area design; water management and irrigation; utilities including water, electric, gas, and sewer; access roadway design; stormwater management and treatment; signage and security fence for pedestrians and vehicles; topographic, vegetation, boundary, easement and utility surveys; landscape design and plantings; cost estimating; permitting and public outreach; use of green building and sustainable technologies; maintenance program recommendations; development of plan or development of special use permit submissions; design of equipment storage and maintenance building facilities; daily and overflow parking design; design of engineered athletic fields with natural grass surfacing; design of fences, walls, walks, play areas, bleachers, plantings, etc. for park and recreation areas; and reviews for warranty inspections.

Task assignments have included:

Witter Street Recreation Fields: Design of 2 multi-purpose fields, lighted softball/baseball field, and a restroom/maintenance building, as well as lighting for the multi-purpose fields. Associated infrastructure design includes access roadway to the recreation fields for both walk-ons and arrival by motor vehicle; parking lot design to accommodate 125 to 145 cars; the design of a signalized intersection at Duke Street; stormwater management design utilizing low impact development techniques; and irrigation systems utilizing the existing water main in the public right-of-way.

Minnie Howard School Athletic Field: Design of synthetic in-fill regulation soccer/all-purpose fields adjacent to the Minnie Howard School, on the existing athletic fields. Also included are lighting; park furniture; fencing; bleachers and benches; and existing turf restoration.

Fort Ward Atheltic Field: Replacement of the natural turf of the existing soccer/all-purpose athletic field with synthetic in-fill turf at Fort Ward Park. The facility will provide water cannons and lighting for the replacement field. Park furniture will be provided in accordance with City standards including 6' fencing around the perimeter of the site.
