MDE Reviews

Project Descriptions
AMT has been associated with the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) for expedited reviews of State and Federal projects for stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and ultimate approval for permits since 1995. The various State, Federal, and City Agencies include Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Federal Post Office, St. Mary's College, The Department of the Navy, and Fort Detrick to name a few.

AMT's Role
The AMT-approved reviewers review plans that have been submitted by the Consultants and/or Design/Build teams for compliance with the Maryland State and Federal Guidelines for stormwater management, sediment and erosion control, and adopted local ordinances. A login and data entry sheet is used to keep track of plans and documentation submitted, the plans and computations are reviewed, and comments are produced until the final permit approval is processed.

Unique Project Components
AMT personnel must be approved by MDE to process these reviews including requests to the appropriate agencies, submission of resumes, and MDE's approval during a screening and test process. Once approved, AMT reviewers review projects within 15 days of initial submittals and follow up with aggressive review schedules for approvals. AMT personnel attend monthly MDE reviewers staff meetings and participate in discussions on stormwater management and erosion and sediment control issues..
